Dog Obedience Training Miami – Tip of the Day
What is the right time to start dog training?
I get asked this question a lot when people call for my Miami dog training services. The critical developmental period for puppies is roughly from 3 weeks – 13 weeks. This is the time puppies are most impressionable and what they learn during this time frame tends to stay with them as their foundation (or lack thereof) for life. Of course nature and nurture are always at play, but that is a discussion for another article.
There is no time that is too early to start dog training. Any ethical/good breeder worth their salt would begin socialization, and basic training way before a puppy even gets to you. But you wouldn’t buy a puppy anyway while millions die in shelters every year, would you! 😉
At the very least, a puppy should know how to sit, down and be socialized to many stimuli prior to your receipt.
There is no time too early or too late to train a dog but it is much easier for you and your puppy to start ASAP. Obviously the earlier you begin the easier it is and the less likely that your pup will develop bad habits. Call Fun Paw Care today to see how we can help you and your puppy get off on the right paw to a wonderful long-term relationship.
Dog and puppy pictures are often in random order so make sure you scroll through all of these and other posts pictures during the month if you are looking for your pup.
