Three Legs or Four, Tommy has a lot of Energy and Loves Being Outside!
One of the many reasons I love ethology, dog training and working with nonhuman and human animals is that they inspire me to be a better person. I am a board member of the disability access committee (DAC) in Miami Beach. I was elected to serve that committee by two consecutive Mayors, Matti Herrera Bower & incumbent Philip Levine and love being part of it dearly not only because of my service dog training and community leadership activities but because of the amazing inspirations and friends I have made throughout the years serving.
It has been said that “Life is 10% what happens to you and 90% how you react to it.”
The paradigm shift in how we react respond to experiences and circumstances depends on our perception. Perception is a magnificent choice we have. Choice, bodily integrity and liberty are the most empowering attributes an animal may encompass. Nonhuman animals, in particular, dogs, are no exception. My foster dog Tommy has made me smile every day since I have had the privilege of caring for him. He, like other inspirations, not only alters my perspective and keeps me grounded but reminds me of what this journey is about: love, authenticity, truth, friendship, determination, service, compassion and honesty. Not only is Tommy a leader and example of carpe diem in its true unadulterated form, but a living example of inspiration and courage. I watch him bring smiles to every store he hops into. He loves the attention as much as people adore Tommy. It’s hard NOT to be happy when you are around him. His wagging tail, smiling face, loving disposition serve as an example for all.
Perception is what one makes of it. It is your choice to love or to fear.
Tommy reminds me of the Persian Proverb, “I complained that I had no shoes until I met a man who had no feet”
Life is dream, Tommy realizes it, do you? Make Tommy’s dream come true and provide this loving survivor a forever home so he can enrich your lives as much as he has enriched all those he has met. Please email me today to find out how you can adopt Tommy, he needs a loving home!
Compassion doesn’t discriminate. “The thinking (person) must oppose all cruel customs, no matter how deeply rooted in tradition and surrounded by a halo. We must avoid bringing torment and injury into the life of another.” Albert Schweitzer
